Base units and button multipliers
| Stock type | Base stock unit | Button / multiplier | How to count stock |
|---|---|---|---|
| Draught | Pint | Pint = 1 Half = 0.5 |
Enter the number of pints; halves produce .5 balances. |
| Spirits | 25ml | 25ml = 1 50ml = 2 |
Record measured bottles as decimals (for example 2.25). Configure the bottle-to-25ml conversion before automatic deduction is enabled. |
| Wine | 75cl bottle | 75cl bottle = 1 187ml glass = 0.25 |
Enter bottles; glasses reduce the balance by a quarter. |
| Single items | Each item | Each = 1 | Enter the number of individual items. |
Conversion workings
| Measure | Working | Multiplier used |
|---|---|---|
| Half pint from pint units | ½ pint ÷ 1 pint = 0.5 | 0.5 |
| 50ml from 25ml units | 50ml ÷ 25ml = 2 | 2 |
| 187ml glass from a 75cl bottle | 187ml ÷ 750ml = 0.249 (use 0.25) | 0.25 |
| Single item | 1 item ÷ 1 item = 1 | 1 |
For every operation: number of servings × button multiplier = base stock units moved.
Partial bottles: two full bottles plus a quarter bottle is entered as 2.25. Do not round the measured remainder; the stock-count field has no fixed decimal-place limit.
How each operation changes stock
| Operation | Stock effect | Rule |
|---|---|---|
| Sale | − | Subtract the selected measure's multiplier. |
| Refund | Exact + | Add back the multiplier stored on the original sale. |
| Waste | − | Subtract the selected measure's multiplier. |
| Transfer source | − | Subtract from the source outlet. |
| Transfer destination | + | Receive the same base-unit quantity as Stock In at the destination outlet. |
Worked examples
- 3 Pints sold: −3 base units
- One 50ml wasted: −2 base units
- One Half refunded: +0.5 base units
- 4 × 50ml transferred: 8 base units (−8 source, then receive +8 at destination)
